$50,000 Prize for Innovation

Are you a researcher, inventor, entrepreneur, or an early-stage startup? The 2016 Cade Prize for Innovation is a cash award, open only to Florida residents, or Florida-based companies. The award, funded by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, is judged on three criteria:

  • Innovation
  • Potential Impact
  • Market Credibility

It's a significant amount of money to help launch a new product or to fund additional research. It would be excellent if someone from Tallahassee won the prize. Past winners have come from Tampa, Orlando and Gainesville. If you come by Making Awesome during our Wednesday open house, I have additional information and brochures.

The application period for the Cade Prize opens on January 1st so now is the time to start working up your pitch. The Cade Museum was named in honor of Dr. J. Robert Cade, a professor at UF and the inventor of Gatorade(tm). You can read about him on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Cade
